FAQ - How to use this site...

Q: How should I use this site?

A: This site is a match making service that brings together artist and game developers. Indie Game Jobs does not function as an escrow service. It does not safeguard you against getting ripped off. Users are encouraged to use the rating system and feedback area to identify the best artists for their job.

Q: How does the bidding system work?

A: When you post a job, artists bid on that job. You may choose a winning bidder at any time. Once a winning bidder is chosen or the job expires, the job is removed from the job board. You aren't forced to choose a winning bidder. If none of the artists are a good fit for your job, you may allow the job to expire without choosing a winning bidder.

Q: What can I do to increase my chances of winning a bid?

A: Although choosing a winning bidder is entirely up to the job poster, the best way to improve your chances of getting selected is by communicating with the job poster before the bidding ends. Introduce yourself! Show them samples of your work or direct them to your projects or portfolios.

Q: How can I see who bid on my job?

A: Look under the "My Account" tab, under the sub-menu "My Job Postings".

Q: Once a winning bidder is selected, then what?

A: Once a winning bidder is selected, the job poster and artist must work together to fulfill each other's end of the agreement. Once the job is complete, buyers and artists may leave each other feedback. The feedback tools are located under the "My Account" section.

Q: Some job postings support comments that appear underneath the details. What are these for?

A: Comments can be used for a variety of things. You might ask the job poster questions about the job that would be helpful to everyone. Or, you might simply want to say, "Wow, cool job!" The job poster can remove your comment for any reason or turn off comments entirely.

Q: Can you alert me when I am the winning bidder on a job?

A: You'll be automatically emailed an alert when you are the winning bidder of a job. You may also add other notifications by editing your profile.
